Interior Architecture
the design of a space which has been created by structural boundaries and the human interaction within these boundaries - the spatial art of environmental design, form and practice
“Spatial Solutions that Compliment Organizational Structure, Relationships and Workflow” – Interior Architecture is a marriage of interior design principles and architecture, focused on the design of the interior building forms and systems. Our innovative adaptive re-use, space planning and renovation concepts help to prolong a buildings life cycle. This is a key factor in land conservation and the reduction of urban sprawl. Meeting client needs by creating aesthetically pleasing interior spaces which are functional, safe, and efficient through materials selection, lighting design, furniture and artwork selection.
Master Planning
making connections between people and places, movement and urban form, nature and the built fabric, and is the process of designing and shaping cities, towns and villages by addressing the larger scale of groups of buildings, of streets and public spaces, whole neighborhoods and districts
“Weaving Public Spaces, Diverse Uses, and Memorable Context into a Distinctive Pattern of Place" – As urban designers we work to enlighten, revitalize and strengthen urban and mixed-use communities so that people can enjoy the interaction and social benefits of traditional town living (present/short-term).
Architecture
the art, science and engineering practice of consciously planning, designing and constructing - through form, space and ambience - habitable building structures that enable and enhance life by evoking a sense of style, while reflecting functional, technical, social, cultural, environmental and aesthetic considerations
“Touching Hearts, Inspiring Happiness, Pursuing Excellence – This is Beauty ... This is Architecture!" – We believe that architecture has the capacity to influence and improve our lives at home, at work and where we play. We strive to create buildings which respect their environment, buildings which inspire us as humans, and buildings which foster the virtue of civility and spirit of community.
Urban Design & Development
a process that determines community goals and aspirations in terms of community development, the outcome of which is a long-term comprehensive plan which dictates public policy in terms of transportation, utilities, land use, recreation, and housing
“Developing Viable Communities and Promoting Integrated Approaches to Neighborhoods” – Urban design is the art of designing cities, i.e. architecture taken to the urban scale, the site, the neighborhood or an entire city. In design our role is to understand the present and envision the potential for the future (medium/long-term). Because we are deeply rooted in the design process, we strive to understand context before we begin studying solutions. Community involvement is a very important part of process of envisioning and preparing for future change to land use plans and policies over a large geography (neighborhood, city, region).
Historic Preservation
an endeavor that seeks to preserve, conserve and protect the built environment, including, buildings, objects, landscapes or other artifacts of historical significance. It enhances our sense of community and brings us closer together
“The Greenest Building is the One That's Already Built” – As leaders in preservation design we strive to save the authentic character of significant historic places and buildings. We are dedicated to “sustainable preservation” or holistically meeting the needs of the present by applying measures to retain the existing form, integrity, and material of a building or structure including stabilization and ongoing maintenance, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Preservation has unique challenges compared to new construction and we bring an appropriately rigorous approach to preserving significant places, buildings, spaces and features. Historic preservation services include historical documentation and recordation, architectural investigation, historic structures reports, design and rehabilitation construction documents for significant cultural resources.
